Global Consensus University Ranking 2026

The four major world rankings — QS, Times Higher Education, ARWU (Shanghai) and U.S. News — each tell a different story. This table puts them side by side and aggregates them into one transparent consensus rank, so you can see where the systems agree and where they diverge.

Last verified: 4 June 2026 · Covers the latest published edition of each ranking · Sources & citation ↓
How the consensus rank works: each university's position in the available rankings is converted to a percentile, the percentiles are averaged with equal weight, and universities are re-ordered by that average. No survey, no opinion, no weighting of ours — just a transparent arithmetic aggregation. Universities missing from a ranking are averaged across the rankings that list them.
